Welcome to New Ulm

Visit NewUlm.com for maps, relocation information as well as general information about the community.

It truly is the City of Charm and Tradition. The early settlers that founded our City, had a vision that is still evident today. Most anywhere you live within the City of New Ulm, you will find a park or greenspace within walking distance. Many of the buildings in our downtown area are a sign of yesteryear and with careful planning by current and past City Councils, that look has been maintained and will be for years to come. Take a close look at the homes built near the center of town and you will see the character and charm of true building craftsman. The ornate woodwork and the brick and stucco exterior are the  features that grab your eye at first glance. The beautiful woodwork, stained glass windows and grand staircases are a few of the amenties on the inside that are a rare find in todays newly constucted homes.

  Fast forward to today!!

The New Ulm area has experienced steady growth in the past in the housing, retail and commercial sector. With the area around Target filling in with local and national stores, retail and industrial growth has been in the direction of New Ulm "North". With the recent addition of an industrial park, Wal-Mart and a strip mall, this end of New Ulm promises to deliver more retail shops in the near future. It is also the section of town that shows a fair amount of housing with building lots, single family residence and townhomes on the agenda. On the South end of New Ulm, the available building lots offer a quieter environment with some bluff views and woods.
